The way you pack for a trip says a lot about your personality (and even more about your organizing sills). How many times have we found ourselves either with a bulging suitcase or one that’s missing the essentials? I’m placing my bets on countless times!

Here are a few tips on how to pack for your next getaway. You’ll know what to do with your essentials and even have room to store some extras!

  • Pick a suitcase that stands out. Opt for a bright color or patterns so it’s distinguishable from the rest!


  • Anyone who’s had luggage lost or stolen will be the first to say it’s the worst! Just in case, bring a change of clothes in your carry-on.

  • Tired of unpacking, only to find all your clothes are wrinkled? Roll, don’t fold, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see the wrinkles–and space–you save.


  • Choose a handbag that’s large enough to hold what you need and comfortable to carry around.


  • Don’t worry about bringing your entire makeup collection. Stick with a versatile lipstick, mascara, eyeliner, concealer and your favorite eyeshadow.


  • Leave room for souvenirs! No vacation is complete without some shopping; better to be prepared!
