‘Tis the season…for work holiday parties, that is. Getting glam for your colleagues may only happen annually, however the memories carry on for much longer. Being remembered for a refined look is certainly preferable to others who might be remembered instead for one too many dips into the punch bowl. What you wear to the company Christmas gala is not a choice that should be taken lightly!

Lets start with a red dress. It may seem obvious, however many tend to go with black or other colors. As red is bold color, it’s important that the shade of red and the dress itself are tasteful. Red done wrong can appear cheap looking.

I’ve selected the “Coach Tour Dress” in rouge, available at Modcloth. The tailoring, cowl neck, and embellishments make this dress retro and unique. The color ads a festive quality. For this occasion, I’ve chosen to pair the dress with sheer black tights and a classic black patent pump by Vince Camuto, the combination is timeless and you will look gorgeous.

For an event like this, your hair and make-up should specifically complement your ensemble. I say channel your inner Audrey Hepburn and go for a high bun (you can totally DIY). As for the make-up, nothing would look better than a cat eye, with a touch of blush, and sheer gloss (red dress + red lips = too much)! When wearing your hair up, the right earrings are essential. A good pair will accentuate every aspect of this look, I like these Triple Fan earrings from By Boe.

This is a lovely ensemble for your work holiday party. It’s seasonal without being over the top, and it shows that you’re making an effort. The only thing left to do is be on your best behavior, because after all, the really fun parties happen when you’re off the clock.
