It’s not every day that you go dancing with your girlfriends. When you do decide to gather the gals for a night in the club, you want to make sure all the details are just right, so the night itself is nothing but a delight.

First, you’ll want to pick a place to party. A pre-planned destination is key because once you know where you’re going, all you have to focus on is looking fierce. As a NYC resident, I’ve chosen “The Twist,” a Friday night dance party located at Exile above 2A. Exile is funky but chic with signature cocktails, a deluxe disco ball, and a killer DJ blasting an eclectic mix you can’t help but boogie to.

Now that you have your party destination planned, you can focus on what to wear. When going out with your girlfriends it’s nice to stand out. Forgo the little black dress and opt for something more interesting. Wearing separates is a way to showcase your style and add extra elements of flavor to any ensemble.

For this November Friday night, let’s start with a band T-shirt and make sure its tightly fitted. If meeting men is on your mind, sport the logo of any 1970’s classic rock group and let the games begin! For this outfit I’ve chosen this “KISS” neon t-shirt from Rockabilia. This shirt is a bold statement and will look best with a black a-line skirt (try this one from Ellen Tracy) and black tights, allowing the shirt to be the focal point. A simple black pump with a practical sized heel will allow freedom and fun. Painful shoes will ruin your night, ladies!

Choosing the right outerwear is major, and finishing this look off with a dark chocolate faux fur is the way to go.  Fur is easily found on etsy or at a local thrift shop – we love the one below from vintage retailer HepCatClothes. The dark brown breaks up the black ever so slightly, and with the tough message of “KISS” the fur keeps it feminine.  Assembling an oufit is a balancing act, and each piece should work off of the others creating the total look.

Last, but certainly not least, is beautifying yourself with the appropriate hair, make-up, and nails. Hair down, natural texture, and parted down the middle will work wonders with the rock n’ roll tee and fur coat. Neutral make-up with a light lip will accentuate the look perfectly, as you never want to appear too done. Lastly, get your nails done. Whether you go for a deep red or neutral mauve, polished nails seal the deal. Girls with manicures have more fun.

Now that you are dressed to kill in this curated yet effortless ensemble, all you have to do is grab your girls, head to the party, and let the magic happen…
