Cleanse

Since cold weather skin tends to get dry, use a gentle cleanser like Josie Marant Argan Cleansing Oil or Vichy Pureté Thermale 3-in-1 One Step Cleanser, a milky way to baby your skin. Also, you’ve probably read it a thousand times and you’ll read it again: Many models and beauty pros use Cetaphil, the mildest of all. It truly is the gentlest way to cleanse your skin. If we weren’t product junkies, we’d be BFFs with Cetaphil forever.

Hydrate

If you can splurge on the the $100 Magic Cream by famous English makeup artist Tilbury Ross, it is our moisturizing rescue remedy, featuring ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, rose hip oil, and organic aloe vera. Ross swears it can “cheat the appearance of 8 hours sleep” after a long day at work or a hedonistic night out. She has worked with Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, Liberty Ross and Penelope Cruz. More affordable but a bit tricky to come by is the amazing Himalaya HERBALS Nourishing Skin Cream. We discovered this brand, which has been around since 1930, in India, and literally everything we’ve tried is a miracle product.

Nourish

Eat seasonal foods to nourish your skin from within, especially those rich in omega 3 fatty acids like nuts. Almonds, walnuts, cashews and chestnuts are available year-round but are traditionally a fall food. They are full of calcium, folic acid, magnesium, potassium and skin-friendly vitamin E. Sweet potatoes are another skin-boosting superfood, as they are high in vitamin A and beta-carotene, which fights the free radicals causing skin aging. Fall favorite and antioxidant-rich butternut squash also delivers vitamin A and vitamin C. Finally, consider the old adage, an apple a day. It’s apple season and these fruits are powerhouses of collagen-boosting vitamin C, melanin-producing copper and vitamin A. Did you know that vitamin A belongs to the family of chemicals called retinoids? Think nature’s retinol!
