Vintage charm is in for summer 2015.

This summer there will be a powerful comeback in vogue with the mythical 70s, revisited and updated in a modern way. Anticipated by fashion shows and present in the collections of most major brands, it is a trend that will continue into the autumn and winter 2015/2016.

The trend was first inspired by the period of the 70’s and the hippie and bohemian lifestyle, but today it is revamped and revised. Many Italian designers have found their inspiration in the long dress with chromatic tie-dye from Emilio Pucci and Giuseppe Zanotti, who was inspired to create a sandal with Jimi Hendrix as his muse.

 70 style

We’re given the green light for colorful kaftans, floral patterns, ethnic prints, and nuanced tonal tie-dye. Meanwhile, psychedelic tones are revived for kaleidoscopic dresses, tops and shirts. Skinny jeans are no longer “in” and palazzo pants have come back with or without pleats, as well as bell-bottom jeans.

For shoe lovers the perfect purchase is wooden shoes, which have become super chic, with exposed studs and high heels. Just like ballet flats, they are ideal to match with long dresses, slippers and sandals decorated with embroidery, flowers, colored beads and strings.

Sandals with wedges are made with fabric, rope sole or raffia. Look for espadrilles and suede boots with warm earth tones, to be combined with bucket bags with fringes.

Finally, the modern Janis Joplin completes her perfect 70’s style look with accessories: a pair of glasses, scarf, bandana, and clasps with fabric flowers for the hair. To top it all off, jewels in the boho style are to be worn in abundance: bracelets, necklaces, beads, silver, turquoise stones, and earrings.
