Ingredients
  1. 2 cups of all purpose flour
  2. A pinch of baking powder
  3. 1/4 cup of sugar
  4. 3 eggs and 1 egg yolk
  5. Seeds of a vanilla bean
  6. One lemon zest
  7. Half a stick of butter
  8. A shot of grappa
  9. Powdered sugar
  10. Peanut oil for frying
  11. A pinch of salt

Preparation
 
 
1- In a bowl, sift the flour with the baking powder, add the sugar and set aside.

2- In another bowl, beat the eggs and egg yolk with a pinch of salt, the vanilla bean seeds, and grated lemon zest.

3- Start to mix the ingredients together, then add the grappa and pour in the butter last, at room temperature.

4- Make a ball with the dough, cover it with foil and let it sit for at least an hour at room temperature.

5- Start to break off small pieces of dough, and roll out with a rolling pin on a lightly floured surface. Roll out a thin sheet and then cut it with a pasta cutter.

6- Deep fry the fritters using a generous amount of peanut oil, turning them to brown on both sides.

7- Once golden, drain the fritters on paper towels. Allow them to cool and then sprinkle with plenty of powdered sugar.
