Ingredients
  1. 7 oz spaghetti
  2. 8.5 oz canned tomatoes (drained weight)
  3. 2.5 cups of water
  4. 1 pinch salt
  5. 1 handful of capers
  6. 1 handful of black olives from Gaeta
  7. 1 1/2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  8. 1/2 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil with chili

1- Put the black olives and the rinsed capers in a bowl.

2- Put the tomatoes in a large pan with the olives, the capers, the salt and the uncooked spaghetti.

3- Add water and both of the olive oils, both the normal one and the one with chili.

4- Put the pot on high heat, cover with lid and wait until it boils (about 5 minutes).

5- When it begins to boil, remove the lid and cook the pasta, turning occasionally and crushing the tomatoes. Add salt to taste.

6- The ratio between water and pasta for cooking should be 2.5 cups of water per 7 oz of pasta, but if you find that the pasta isn’t cooked and the sauce isn’t enough, you can add more hot water during cooking.

7- Once the pasta is ready, serve it immediately.
